Role Summary:

The Altus team is instrumental in delivering core Enterprise IT services for our government clientele. Our engineers are tasked with the architecture, engineering, integration, operations, maintenance, and sustainment of a global multi-level/multiple classification Enterprise IT environment that facilitates collaboration between the US and international partners.

In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise to make an immediate impact as a Linux Systems Architect. You will collaborate with a team of IT specialists to implement tailored environments and troubleshoot technical challenges in support of advanced collaborative capabilities. This role is highly visible to the customer, integrating cutting-edge commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware and software. Furthermore, you will be at the forefront of developing and enforcing security protocols for secure, multi-party capabilities across various domain classifications. Your responsibilities will include gathering requirements from diverse users across the Intelligence Community (IC), conducting site surveys, and preparing installation plans. You will build, configure, and test systems and hardware suites prior to deployment, as well as create and update documentation packages, installation guides, configuration guides, user manuals, test plans, and technical reports. As capabilities are rolled out in our production environment, you will contribute to ongoing monitoring, sustainment, and process improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designs and evaluates system architecture, including relevant use cases.
  • Optimizes technology to ensure anticipated availability and performance standards are met.
  • Leads significant portions of large or medium-scale IT projects and manages smaller projects independently.
  • Creates models for future enhancements to system hardware and software.
  • Develops and conducts training initiatives.
  • Assists in the development or modification of complex hardware and software solutions to enhance specialized IT infrastructures.
  • Collaborates with various organizational levels to resolve system engineering challenges.
  • Provides regular updates and status reports, including issues and proposed solutions.
  • Generates advanced technological and operational concepts and guides their development to completion.
  • Delivers technical presentations to government and contractor personnel across all contract team levels.
  • Advises on the integration of new platforms regarding cost, schedule, and performance impacts.
  • Oversees installation, maintenance, and support of complex technical infrastructures and system software components.
  • Offers specialized solutions to intricate IT challenges.
  • Conducts analyses and prepares summary reports.
  • Gathers data through research and interviews to analyze client needs and prepares final reports.
  • Develops security protocols for design reviews and operational monitoring.
  • Provides expert guidance on automated solutions for complex information processing issues.
Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI Poly Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security Systems Engineering, or a related field may substitute for two (2) years of experience, reducing the requirement to six (6) years of IT Engineering experience.
  • Four (4) years of additional IT Engineer experience may replace a Bachelor's degree, resulting in a total experience requirement of twelve (12) years as an IT Engineer without a degree.
  • Compliance with DoD 8570; Security + CE is mandatory.
  • Eight (8) years of experience as an IT Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • One (1) year of experience in Enterprise IT systems and projects, managing integration operations and maintenance activities across multiple system domains of varying security classifications and diverse user bases.
