Role Responsibilities:
The Level 3 Linux System Administrator will be responsible for:
- Implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining IT systems.
- Overseeing daily operations and configuration of IT systems.
- Assisting users with IT system access and usage.
- Monitoring and resolving issues related to client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
- Communicating status updates to management and internal stakeholders.
- Optimizing Linux system performance and conducting capacity analysis.
- Providing expert troubleshooting for complex IT systems.
- Delivering detailed analysis and feedback on escalated support tickets.
- Configuring and managing Linux operating systems, including software installations and network component configurations.
- Supporting system design and mission architecture.
- Analyzing and resolving intricate problems related to server hardware and software integration.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience as a System Administrator in similar programs.
- A Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.
- A strong foundation in Linux systems, including troubleshooting and central authentication technologies.
- Experience with SSH, network devices, and high-latency environments.
Preferred Skills:
Ideal candidates will also have:
- Basic knowledge of Kubernetes and experience with Ansible playbooks.
- Familiarity with system provisioning technologies and scripting.
- Experience in managing Virtual Machine environments.
- A proactive and independent work ethic.
Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI w/Poly SP
Work Environment:
This position requires onsite work at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. We offer a variety of flexible work schedules to support a healthy work-life balance.
