Key Responsibilities:
The Level 3 Linux System Administrator will be responsible for:
- Implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining IT systems.
- Overseeing daily operations and configuration of IT systems.
- Assisting users with system access and functionality.
- Monitoring and resolving issues related to client/server, storage, and network devices.
- Communicating status updates to management and internal stakeholders.
- Optimizing Linux system performance and conducting capacity planning.
- Providing expert troubleshooting for complex IT systems.
- Analyzing escalated issues and delivering feedback to management.
- Configuring and managing Linux operating systems and enhancing system reliability.
- Supporting system design and mission architecture.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:
- A minimum of 15 years of experience as a System Administrator in similar environments.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- Strong expertise in Linux systems and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Experience with central authentication technologies and command-line navigation.
- Familiarity with network devices such as firewalls and routers.
Preferred Skills:
Additional skills that would be beneficial include:
- Basic knowledge of Kubernetes and Ansible.
- Experience with scripting and virtual machine environments.
- A proactive, independent work ethic.
Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI w/Poly SP
Work Environment:
This position requires onsite work at a designated Lockheed Martin facility, supporting a variety of flexible work schedules.
