The ideal candidate will be responsible for upholding and enhancing the integrity, security, and performance of our Linux operating systems. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, and updating Linux systems and software, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the systems are secure, reliable, and efficient. Strong problem-solving skills and a comprehensive understanding of Linux commands, shell scripting, networking, and system administration are essential.
Position Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee, configure, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems and applications.
  • Design and implement Linux-based solutions tailored to various business needs.
  • Provide comprehensive Unix, Linux, or Windows systems administration and operations.
  • Develop and maintain scripts utilizing programming languages such as Bash, Python, Perl, Ansible, and Kickstart.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure effective system integration and functionality.
  • Monitor system performance and implement necessary updates and upgrades.
  • Ensure system security and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Assist users and systems engineers with the setup, installation, and testing of their applications.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users.
Preferred Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Red Hat servers and workstations.
  • Proficient in Linux architecture, deployment, administration, performance monitoring/tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting.
  • Scripting Experience: Bash, Python, Perl, Ansible, and Kickstart.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Any of the following certifications would be a plus:
    • CompTIA Linux+ Certification
    • CompTIA Security + Certification
    • CompTIA Network + Certification
    • CompTIA A+ Certification
