Job Title: Technical Sales Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Sales Representative to join our team at Patuxent Roofing and Contracting In. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing cost estimates and construction schedules, guiding owner selections, and presenting results in a format suitable for clients and design teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet and collaborate with clients, engineers, and staff to understand products being developed.
  • Re-enforce our value proposition and strengthen relationships with owners, contractors, suppliers, and new customers.
  • Maintain and grow client portfolio with new and existing customers.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and manage invitations to bid and requests for proposal (RFP).
  • Analyze project specifications and drawings to compile project notes, RFI's, and scope development.
  • Measure buildings, verify dimensions, and perform test cuts when necessary.
  • Complete take off and estimate with the Edge Estimating Software.
  • Handle estimating functions, including bids, pricing, and change orders.
  • Review and analyze existing and proposed processes, staff, and materials to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Draft and develop detailed proposals and cost estimates for projects based on data analysis and research.

Requirements:

  • 1 year experience and knowledge of project managing/estimating in commercial roofing.
  • Knowledge of commercial roofing with single-ply, asphalt, cold applied, hot applied, and metal projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to create forecasts based on financial data.
  • Preferred experience with Edge Estimating.
  • Ability to analyze specifications and drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

This position is available in San Antonio, Austin, and Waco, Texas.
