COMPENSATION: $14 per hour

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

  • This role is designated for individuals prior to completing their training, and as such, they are not permitted to engage in any direct or physical patient care.
  • The position is part of the Nurse Aide Training Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP).
  • Upon successful completion of the nurse aide classes and required clinical experience, the individual will be recognized as a Nurse Aide in Training (NAT).
  • The facility is restricted from employing any individual in this capacity for more than four months. During this period, the individual must successfully pass the licensure examination to qualify as a State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA). Failure to do so may result in reassignment to a non-nursing role or termination.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Respond to call lights promptly.
  2. Provide hydration support by passing ice and water to patients between meals and assisting with snack distribution.
  3. Support in maintaining patient beds.
  4. Assist with laundry-related tasks:
  • Organize and store patients' clean personal laundry.
  • Restock clean linen closets while adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Clean and arrange patient drawers under the guidance of the patient or responsible party.
  • Dispose of soiled utility containers in designated trash areas.
  1. Label personal items (e.g., toothbrushes, denture cups) to prevent cross-contamination.
  2. Prepare dining areas by setting tables with linens and silverware for meal service.
  3. Note: Meal Service team members are not authorized to feed patients.
  • Deliver trays and beverages to residents in the dining area.
  • Transport room trays to patients' rooms.
  1. Engage in one-on-one companionship visits with patients.
  2. Complete any additional non-direct care tasks as assigned by nursing staff or unit management.
  3. Assist with activities when nursing-related tasks are not required.
