Role Summary and Qualifications

The Culinary Call Center acts as the primary liaison for patients, family members, and nursing staff who wish to submit requests and preferences regarding food, beverages, and meal services, as well as those looking to address foodservice-related issues. The Nutrition Support Center Representative is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring patient satisfaction. This role involves answering calls, processing meal requests, and entering necessary information into the Computrition Nutrition Care Management system (NCM). Building rapport with customers is essential to promote outstanding service and to resolve issues with empathy and urgency while ensuring timely follow-up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to calls in a centralized call center for patient foodservice, ensuring appropriate and timely processing of food and beverage requests.
  • Complete assigned tasks that align with the needs of patients and adhere to company and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all meal orders, tray tickets, and diet office reports.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve customer issues promptly.
  • Inform the Manager or on-duty lead of any unresolved issues and seek assistance as needed.
  • Exhibit service excellence principles in all interactions with patients, family members, and caregivers, ensuring patient safety, dignity, and privacy.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain rapport through effective communication and timely follow-up with customers, colleagues, management, and external agencies.
  • Generate monthly meal count reports for management and enter data for month-end reporting.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for professional growth.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statement.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Associate Degree or higher in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in hospital foodservice is required, with 2-3 years in diet office or customer service roles.
  • Previous experience in healthcare patient foodservice and/or call center environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of modified diets, foodservice operations, and culinary terminology is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer systems related to food service, including Diet Office and/or Call Center processes, is preferred.
  • Availability to work Part-Time is required.
