Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Information Specialist to join our team at Terros Health. As a Health Information Specialist, you will be responsible for performing functions related to the clients' medical record, from enrollment to closure. This includes compiling, processing, and maintaining electronic health records in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulations
  • Release information to persons or agencies according to Internal, state, federal and HIPPA regulations
  • Retrieve patient medical records for physicians, nurses, technicians, or other medical personnel
  • Process patient external referrals to third party entities
  • Protect the security of the medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained
Requirements
  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent required
  • NextGen experience or NCP certification preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience in behavioral health and medical records/HIM department setting strongly preferred
