Heavy Duty Diesel Technician

US Foods, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Technician to join our team. As a Senior Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and documentation standards.
This role requires extensive hands-on experience and the ability to perform preventative maintenance and road service tasks. The position is part of a dynamic team, supporting the foodservice industry with a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance within company standards.
- Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability.
- Handle road service calls; perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
- Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping.
- A valid Class-A CDL license DOT certified preferred.
- (7) years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic or a combination of both.
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
- SUCCESSFULLY DEMONSTRATED INDEPENDENT ANALYTICAL AND PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS.
- Prior experience in administering appropriate PM programs.
- Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet.
The estimated base rate for this role is between $22 and $38 per hour. Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.
