At US Foods, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of diesel-powered vehicles.

The estimated salary for this role is $32.05 per hour, with opportunities for overtime compensation and a retention bonus.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and experienced diesel mechanic who can troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair diesel-powered vehicles, including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, and lift gates. You will also be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, documenting repairs, and handling road service calls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with diesel equipment
  • Perform repairs, rebuilds, and replacements as needed
  • Conduct preventative maintenance within company standards
  • Document all repair orders and parts accountability
  • Handle road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations
  • Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping
  • Backup other maintenance shop personnel as needed

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience as a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic
  • Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification preferred
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Prior experience in administering PM programs
  • Certifications: CDL A and DOT certified preferred
