Dedicated Special Education Professional Wanted

We are seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Soliant in Dolton, IL. This is a full-time position that offers an attractive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year.
About the RoleThis role involves working with students who have various disabilities and learning challenges, developing individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborating with other educators and parents to support student success. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of diverse learning needs and be committed to creating an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities- Instruction and Support:
- Develop and implement tailored IEPs for each student's unique needs.
- Design and deliver engaging instructional activities that accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods as needed.
- Classroom Management:
- Create and maintain a positive, supportive, and safe classroom environment.
- Employ effective behavioral management strategies to address and resolve issues that impact student learning.
- Foster a classroom culture of respect, empathy, and inclusivity.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development.
- Professional Development:
- Stay current with best practices in special education and incorporate new strategies into teaching.
- Attend required professional development workshops and training sessions.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
- Prepare reports and documentation as required by state regulations.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, applicants should possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid Illinois PEL Special Education Certification (Teacher of Students with Disabilities or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in special education (preferred but not required). Experience with autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and emotional disturbances is beneficial.
