School Nurse Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to provide exceptional healthcare services to our students, ensuring their well-being and academic success.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive educational environment by minimizing student absences due to illness. Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate health records, providing medical care for injuries and illnesses, and promoting overall health and wellness throughout the school district.

Requirements:
  • A valid IL Registered Nurse License is required for this position.
  • CPR/AED Certification is also necessary for effective emergency response.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential for successful collaboration with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • An Illinois State School Nurse Service Personnel License is mandatory for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular health screenings to identify potential health needs and ensure proper referrals for medical and dental care.
  • Collaborate with parents, school personnel, and external agencies to address school health matters.
  • Monitor students' health needs and provide in-service training to teachers on promoting healthy behaviors.
  • Participate in developing and implementing the total school health program to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Administer medical treatment and medication to students as needed.
Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
