Job Summary

CHS Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations Specialist to join our agronomy team in Devils Lake, ND. As an Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for carrying out general labor responsibilities promptly and efficiently, developing and maintaining knowledge of the commodities handled at the location, and complying with company policy and government regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out general labor responsibilities, including preparing trucks and railcars for loading/unloading, loading and unloading agricultural inputs, and controlling and monitoring all load out functions.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the commodities handled at the location and comply with company policy and government regulations.
  • Work with customers in a courteous and professional manner, providing excellent customer service.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks, including lubrication of pumps, valves, and loading arms, and inspecting in-use equipment for seeps and leaks.
  • Monitor and maintain quality of inventory, including blended, bulk, or packaged product.
  • Deliver products to customer sites, keeping all work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Perform grounds maintenance, including snow removal, and warehouse work, including driving a loader, loading/unloading inventory, and forklift operation.
  • Promptly report any customer complaints, repair or maintenance needs, or safety concerns to supervisor.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
Requirements
  • Must meet minimum age requirement.
  • 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to operate machinery, such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile.
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred.
  • Agriculture experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds.
  • Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs, and bins.
  • Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.
