Job Title: Operations Specialist

CHS Inc. is a leading global agribusiness that provides grain, food, and energy resources to businesses and consumers worldwide. We are seeking a skilled Operations Specialist to join our team in Devils Lake, ND.

This role involves working in the barley house, grading grain, assisting customers, loading out cars, and performing general maintenance and clean-up tasks. Additionally, we offer the opportunity to train as a Custom Applicator, operating a high-clearance sprayer or floater in the spring and fall.

Typical working hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm, with occasional night shifts and weekends. During spring and harvest seasons, hours may extend to Monday to Sunday, 7am to 10pm.

Responsibilities:
  • Apply fertilizers and crop protection products under general supervision, using high-clearance sprayers or floaters.
  • Interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner, educating them on products and techniques.
  • Assist sales staff in ensuring orders are accurate and customer needs are met.
  • Perform warehouse tasks, including driving loaders, forklifts, and performing maintenance.
  • Load and unload agricultural inputs from railcars and trucks using heavy or light-duty machinery.
  • Pick up and deliver products to customers as needed.
  • Perform general labor duties, including maintenance, grounds maintenance, equipment inspection, and record-keeping.
Requirements:
  • 1+ years of experience in agriculture production, operations, or application.
  • Meet minimum age requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Meet DOT and company requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to operate machinery, such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobiles.
  • Ability to work additional hours to meet business demand.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Applicator's license, chemical application education, and experience, forklift certification, and farming/agriculture background preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and load up to 75 lbs.
