POSITION SUMMARY

The S&B Family of Companies is seeking a skilled Nautical Engineering Specialist for our affiliate TAI Engineers.

The successful candidate will independently conduct Marine Engineering tasks across all stages of mechanical development and equipment design for complex projects.

Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in all standard Marine Engineering practices and apply independent judgment for the assessment, selection, and significant adaptation of established design engineering criteria, methods, and procedures.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant Engineering field from an accredited institution.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
0-5 years of relevant Engineering experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Junior Engineer collaborates closely with the Senior Engineer to provide assistance and support.
Conduct design evaluations and assess feasibility.
Address technical challenges and oversee information generated throughout the design and construction phases of multiple concurrent projects.
Prepare engineering reports and associated documentation, and create charts and graphs to illustrate findings.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operational and maintenance guidelines, and procedural manuals. Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence. Capable of effectively communicating before clients or organizational personnel.

MATHEMATICAL ABILITY

Competence in working with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and the fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world scenarios.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Occasionally, may participate in field visits to operational plants or construction sites.

This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, and maintain balance, as well as clear close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

Lifting up to 25 pounds may be necessary.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The typical work environment is an office setting with moderate noise levels.

Occasionally, you may be assigned to an operational plant or an on-site office for the duration of a project.

This may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, elevated noise levels, and working near moving mechanical components, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibrations, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles.
