We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Gateway Search Associates Inc. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting the monthly accounting close, performing corporate consolidations, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Accounting Operations: Assume primary responsibility for recording advance related activity and operational servicing activity.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare various journal entries and facilitate monthly close deadlines through automation and innovation.
- Account Reconciliations: Prepare monthly account reconciliations for both key and non-key servicing related assets and liabilities.
- Financial Statement Preparation: Assist in preparation of financial reporting information as required for SEC, statutory and compliance related reporting.
- Spreadsheet Management: Maintain spreadsheet models and reports used in the accounting process.
- Process Understanding: Ability to understand process flow and how your tasks affect the larger picture.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with our business partners in Servicing, Capital Markets and Treasury to resolve issues and build efficiencies.
- Audit Support: Work with internal and external auditors and examiners to provide accurate, complete, and timely information.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Experience: 3+ years of related accounting experience required.
- Industry Experience: Banking/Mortgage/Financial Services industry experience a plus.
- Public Accounting Experience: Public accounting experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel and experience with SQL required.
