Job Summary

The Training and Development Specialist is a key member of the Northstar Aerospace Human Resource Department, responsible for overseeing the corporate-wide Learning Management System (LMS), developing, implementing, and managing both technical and leadership training and development activities across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop an annual training plan for Northstar Aerospace, including specific training goals for each area.
  • Recommend, develop, schedule, and conduct required and recommended training sessions, monitoring and evaluating progress against the plan as well as training effectiveness in all areas of the organization.
  • Maintain employee training records in support of general business requirements under NADCAP, ISO, AS9100, ITAR, and customer audits.
  • Lead the implementation of plant-wide process and technical training programs and initiatives, including new hire, enhancements, and other related activities.
  • Provide support to plant staff and operations management in maintaining a consistent method of evaluating job performance and training program effectiveness, developing qualification tools, and maintaining proper training documentation.
  • Prepare an annual training budget.
  • Create and write job aids.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in a related field required.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related business preferred.
  • Five (5) years of training experience in a manufacturing environment, unionized preferred.
  • AI experience preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of training processes and LMS implementation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent discretion and judgment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
  • AI experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, HRIS Systems, and E-Learning Systems.
  • Excellent multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% between Arizona and Canada.
