Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Training Specialist to join our team at the Chicago Transit Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive internship programs to enhance the job readiness and educational experience of potential employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute training programs for K-12 and college-level internship programs, as well as Second Chance Program and other career-related initiatives.
  • Lead and conduct training sessions, workshops, and presentations to various audiences, including new hires, supervisors, and external partners.
  • Facilitate new hire orientations, training programs, and structured learning experiences to support established learning objectives.
  • Conduct site visits, provide guidance, and ongoing case management to interns, supervisors, and partnering departments.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to coach and develop participants for educational or career paths in the transit industry.
  • Perform administrative duties related to internship and educational programs, including report preparation and data analysis.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with academic institutions, community organizations, and social service agencies to support program development and implementation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or professional designation in a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
  • One year of experience working in or with an academic institution, community organization, and/or social service agency with internship, youth, or similar educational programs.
  • One year of experience designing, developing, implementing, and facilitating training programs or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid State of Illinois Driver's License is required.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a general office environment and will be required to travel to field locations, including bus garages, rail terminals, and shops. The position may require working during off-hours, including evenings and weekends, to conduct training, coaching, and support in all three shifts to field locations.
