Bakery Operations Manager Job Summary

At Brookshires Grocery Company, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bakery Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our bakery department, you will be responsible for ensuring that our baked goods are prepared and displayed to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with bakery personnel to promote department sales and customer service to support profitability goals.
  • Ensure that baked goods are prepared and displayed in accordance with Company standards.
  • Support upper management with the review of historical data regarding sales, ads, and promotions.
  • Co-manage inventory using item management processes to ensure satisfactory in-stock levels.
  • Indirectly responsible for maintaining and improving sales performance, financial results, public relations, product quality, and work standards.
  • Enforce quality control and food safety standards and ensure dated products are stocked and rotated properly.
  • Make fine judgments about aroma, flavor, taste, texture, and color to inspect baked goods for quality.
  • Help with all aspects of bakery production including preparing, packaging, labeling, catering, and occasional delivery of baked goods.
  • Use creativity to decorate baked goods, promote themes, and merchandise product through appealing displays.
  • Check inventory on trucks, unload products, and ensure accuracy of inventory, product ordering, and associated paperwork.
  • Promote product sales through use of suggestive selling initiatives and appealing product displays.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to Company safety procedures.
  • Provide friendly and customer-service-oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and taking orders by phone and in person.

Requirements:

  • High school Diploma or GED and one or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
  • Food Handler certification required.
  • Manager Food Safety certification required.
  • Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception, or the ability to focus.
  • Continuously required to talk and hear.
  • Continuously required to use hands for reaching, touching, or handling.
  • Continuously required to stand or walk.
  • Frequently required to use strenuous finger or hand movements.
  • Frequently required to bend, kneel, squat, or stoop.
  • Frequently required to push, pull, maneuver, or lift objects up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver, or lift objects up to 75 lbs.
