Lead Cook Job Description

Job Summary:

The Crowne Plaza Lake Placid, managed by Essex Hotel Management, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cook to oversee the kitchen operations and manage the kitchen staff. As a key member of the culinary team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, ensuring that all team members are performing their duties to the best of their abilities
  • Develop and maintain recipes and menus that meet the needs of our guests
  • Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all guest needs are met

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Lead Cook or similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of kitchen operations and cooking techniques
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree preferred

Salary: $22.00 - $25.00 Depending upon experience
