Housing Placement Coordinator Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Housing Placement Coordinator to join our team at Ascend Nonprofit Solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating housing placement of families within our continuum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research rental properties for geographical preferences, unit size, unit availability, and budgeted rent.
  • Provide guidance and support to approved participants during the housing search process.
  • Advocate for approved participants with property management to overcome barriers with credit history, criminal background, and/or income level.
  • Coordinate housing inspection processes with rental property managers, residents, and inspectors.
  • Prepare income calculations for applicants/participants based on referral/renewal documentation.
  • Maintain Client Housing File content - both hard copy and electronic.
  • Participate in professional learning opportunities and required ongoing training.
  • Abide by agency confidentiality policy.
  • Understand and practice the mission, goals, and best practices of the Agency.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a Bachelor's Degree and/or one year of related experience.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated capability in knowledge of property management/rental housing market.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with families, volunteers, co-workers, and with representatives of other agencies and programs, and housing partners.
  • Knowledge of social services available through anti-poverty programs.
  • Proficient in computer and standard office software including Microsoft Office programs.
  • Reliable and dependable transportation. Must have a valid driver's license and insured transportation.
