This is a US-based In-Office position working out of our corporate headquarters located in Johnston, RI five days a week in accordance with core business hours 9am to 3pm.

Only open to applicants within 50 miles of Corporate Headquarters located in Johnston, RI.

Relocation is not offered.

Exciting, multidisciplinary opportunity to be an integral part of how FM underwrites and delivers our policies.

This role is highly dynamic and requires an appetite for regulatory knowledge and the ability to apply your knowledge creatively to FM and FM Affiliated underwriting practices, policies and procedures.

You will be instrumental in understanding and interpreting regulatory requirements and work effectively with both internal and external partners to ensure underwriting compliance.

This position is critical for maintaining the integrity of FM insurance products offered across different markets.

Collaboration with Regulators:
  • Ensure compliance with statutes and regulations.
  • Engage in discussions, negotiations, and external underwriting audits.
  • Create and submit regulatory findings to government agencies.
Collaborator Interaction:
  • Collaborate, educate, and communicate with colleagues and external support to implement regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate closely with other corporate departments.
Research:
  • Conduct research using statutes, regulations and other internal and external information to support compliance efforts.
  • Comprehend FM and/or FM Affiliated underwriting practices, policies, and procedures.
Educational Background
  • A 4-year college degree is required.
Experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in the legal field or regulatory work preferred.
  • Recent legal studies graduates are welcome to apply.
Knowledge
  • Understanding of the U.S. legal system and the ability to read and comprehend statutes and regulations.
Skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and mathematical skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
