Director of Operations Job Description

The Director of Operations is a key leadership role at Dave's Hot Chicken, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and long-term success of our San Diego locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning: Support the development of strategic plans to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability across all San Diego locations.
  • Restaurant Operations: Manage the development, operations, and financial aspects of all restaurants within the territory, ensuring optimal workforce utilization and revenue/realized gross margin projections within budget.
  • Cost Analysis: Directly involved in managing cost analysis to ensure consistent profitability and identify areas for improvement.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Directly involved in achieving high guest satisfaction through tattle, birdeye, and mystery shopper audits.
  • Employee Satisfaction: Responsible for maintaining high employee satisfaction and assisting Restaurant General Managers in their employee satisfaction efforts.
  • Goal Achievement: Responsible for executing the Company's weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and long-term goals in line with the Company's Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Review and revise the Company's current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to effectively manage restaurant operations and projected growth.
  • Performance Reviews: Conduct quarterly performance reviews on all General Managers to continuously develop the team and ensure performance is aligned with expectations.
  • Ops Reports: Submits weekly ops reports to analyze general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on operations.
  • Estimating Functions: Directs and coordinates estimating functions to ensure accuracy, profitability, and competitive edge.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other senior leaders and departments to support Company goals.
  • Monthly Bonus Program: Directs the monthly bonus program and measures progress to increase efficiency.
Compliance:
  • Maintain a safe workspace by enforcing standards and procedures, and keeping compliance with legal regulations.
  • Ensure all required documentation is complete.
Management & Leadership:
  • Work collaboratively with other restaurant leaders and departments to support Company goals.
  • Establish team focus by developing and communicating goals in support of the visions and values of Cluckin Inc.
  • Develop others by delegating responsibility, providing high-impact performance feedback, and assisting in conflict resolution.
  • Manage organizational transformation and change by communicating change to the team, problem-solving, and establishing structure.
