Position Summary

We are in search of a Marketing Operations Coordinator. This role is a contract position responsible for curating and producing culturally relevant marketing content specifically for our Live Events brand. The Coordinator will assist in the creation and review of marketing materials for various events. Additionally, this position will involve engaging with our global community through social listening and comment moderation, as well as supporting daily tasks for the Marketing team. The ideal candidate is proactive and adaptable, ready to take on multiple responsibilities in a dynamic media environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage event creation and community engagement on platforms like Eventbrite.
  • Submit requests for creative assets and newsletters to support marketing initiatives.
  • Review marketing content for accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to monitor and update tasks in alignment with campaign strategies.
  • Oversee the AFROTECH Connect app, including scheduling posts and notifications.
  • Assist in post-event analysis by gathering and summarizing campaign performance metrics.
  • Engage in light copywriting for emails, social media, and marketing materials.
Qualifications
  • Education: B.A./B.S. in Business, Marketing, Media Studies, Communication, or Advertising preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Experience: 1-3 years in event marketing, social media management, or content creation.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Canva, Eventbrite, Google Suite, Asana, and similar project management tools. Familiarity with WordPress, TikTok, Facebook/Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Discord is advantageous.
  • Additional Attributes: Creative thinker with a strong understanding of Black audience engagement on social media. Self-motivated and capable of managing significant responsibilities. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adept at transforming complex data into structured insights. High-energy, positive demeanor, and excellent communication skills are essential.
Position Details
  • This role is fully remote, with potential travel requirements.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Availability for work in alignment with the Pacific Time Zone is necessary.
  • The hourly compensation for this position is $30.
