Job Title: ROI Medical Records Specialist

At MRO, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented ROI Medical Records Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our clients by processing medical record requests in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine records to be released by reviewing requestor information and obtaining pertinent patient data from various sources.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to walk-in customers requesting medical records, logging information into our ROI On-Line database.
  • Process requests from physician offices on a priority basis and fax information to the physician office.
  • Log medical record requests into our ROI On-Line database and scan medical records into the system.
  • Comply with site facility policies and regulations, and handle and record cash payments for requests.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in using computer applications and experience entering data into computer systems.
  • One or more years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of HIPAA regulations.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to work independently to meet production goals.
  • High School Diploma/GED required, with prior work experience in Release of Information in a physician's office or HIM Department a plus.
