Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing professional-level accounting services and ensuring the integrity of our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and reports
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures
  • Provide technical assistance to department administrators and principal investigators
  • Analyze and reconcile financial data to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Prepare and submit financial reports to management and external stakeholders
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance
  • Working knowledge of financial management systems and software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be advantageous:

  • Supervisor experience
  • Knowledge of university and state budget policies and procedures
  • Experience working in a higher education environment
