Job Title: Chief Operating Officer, Population Health

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operating Officer, Population Health to lead our population health initiatives and drive operational excellence across our network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pursue clinical integration activities with our Clinically Integrated Network (CIN) members, collaborating with the Chief Population Health Officer and VP of Clinical Services to develop an integrated care model that improves quality and efficiency of care for attributed lives.
  • Manage Directors of Network Operations in each market, overseeing network development, transformation, and integration strategy, as well as performance on value-based contracts focusing on cost and quality.
  • Coordinate CIN Board efforts to develop a participating provider development plan, including retention, recruitment, and succession planning of participating providers in each market.
  • Partner with System Director, Value-Based Programs Population Health, to recruit and retain physicians into the CIN.
  • Oversee management of requests for analytic support and EMR changes necessary for performance in value-based programs and products, chairing the system Population Health Analytics and EMR Prioritization Committee.
  • Drive operational excellence by designing and executing strategic business and operational plans that support the population health strategy for the ministry and market-specific growth strategies.
  • Partner with payers to manage Payer Joint Operating Committees, driving performance improvement, innovation, and clinical transformation efforts that achieve the goals and objectives of value-based contracts.
  • Ensure achievement of network integrity goals and key performance indicators (KPIs), including accurate and timely network integrity data for Network Managers to synthesize into actionable strategies to improve KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with physicians and corporate staff to influence decisions and meet organizational mission and vision, pursuing opportunities for partnerships, collaborations, and new programmatic opportunities that enhance the CIN.
  • In partnership with Market Presidents, execute strategies that have the greatest impact on network integrity KPIs and population health initiatives, supporting both independent and employed CIN/ACO participating providers.
Requirements:
  • Required Minimum Education: Bachelor's in Related Field. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Required Minimum Years of Experience: 10+ years related experience, including 7-10 years in a leadership role with significant business impact.
