Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Operating Officer to lead the administrative functions of the County of Santa Clara Health System. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare administration, strategic planning, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term strategic plans to ensure the health system's continued growth and success.
  • Leadership and Management: Direct and manage the health system's leadership team, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and decision-making.
  • Operational Oversight: Provide day-to-day operational oversight of the health system's hospitals, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Financial Management: Direct and assist in the financial management of the health system, including budget planning, capital management, and human resources.
  • Community Engagement: Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with other hospitals, community agencies, and professional organizations to promote the health system's mission and goals.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Hospital Administration, Health Care Administration, or Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: Approximately years of increasingly responsible experience in hospital management, with a significant amount of time in a senior management position in a health or hospital system.
  • Skills: Strong business acumen, problem-solving techniques, project management, and creative resourcefulness.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Regulations: Familiarity with regulations and laws common to the operation of hospitals and health systems in California.
  • Leadership and Management: Proven ability to manage and lead people, team build, and connect staff at all levels.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically, anticipate future consequences and trends, and incorporate them into the organizational plan.
