About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Team Leader to join our team at Amway. As a key member of our Facilities and Manufacturing / Supply Chain department, you will be responsible for supervising a team of maintenance technicians and ensuring that all equipment and facilities are properly maintained and in good working order.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of maintenance technicians to ensure that equipment is functioning properly and efficiently
  • Hire and onboard new talent as needed
  • Work closely with production personnel to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues in a timely manner
  • Ensure that maintenance procedures and policies are followed consistently by the team
  • Develop and maintain relationships with equipment suppliers and service providers
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to identify and implement ways to increase equipment efficiency and effectiveness
  • Lead the custodial team to ensure a clean and hygienic facility is maintained
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations of team members and provide training and development opportunities as needed
  • Conduct routine audits of the facilities and equipment to ensure compliance is maintained for a GMP facility and processes
  • Perform Safety walks with leadership and EH&S, provide guidance and take ownership for all safety work performed by maintenance and contractors
  • Work closely with governing authority to maintain any compliance or licensing for Life Safety, Environmental Waste and Air Quality, Boiler Inspections, and Fire Protection
Requirements
  • One of the following:
    • Minimum 3 years' experience plus bachelor's degree in Engineering
    • Minimum 4 years facilities/manufacturing experience plus Skilled Trades Journeyman or Amway's Mechanic career path
    • Minimum 5 years' facilities/manufacturing maintenance and BA/BS degree
Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • The ability to diagnose and repair equipment issues
  • Ability to communicate at the maintenance technician level
  • Strong organizational, planning, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues in a way that can be understood and embraced by a non-technical community
  • Ability to use computer-based maintenance management software and systems, preferably experience with an Enterprise Asset Management system like Hexagon or Infor
  • Ability to read and understand equipment and facility drawings including parts schematics, BOM, P&ID drawings and architectural drawings
