Schurz Communications is in search of an IT Generalist. The IT Generalist will be responsible for providing comprehensive end-user assistance for the organization's software applications and infrastructure, including but not limited to email services, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Windows operating systems.

This role will also involve addressing computer and network configuration challenges, such as Wi-Fi connectivity, basic routing and switching, as well as managing antivirus, anti-spyware, and anti-malware solutions.

Position Type: Full-time
Compensation: $25-$30/hr
Work Environment: In-office

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively prioritize and resolve issues as they arise, promptly informing management of potential high-impact concerns.
  • Assemble and deploy computers utilizing the Microsoft Windows operating system.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot end-user hardware and software problems.
  • Understand and address customer and business requirements.
  • Foster and maintain cooperative relationships through strong interpersonal skills and effective communication.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 1-3 years of experience in help desk support and basic network/system administration within a corporate setting.
  • Availability to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation approximately every five weeks.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Microsoft Certifications are advantageous.
  • Network+ certification is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in supporting applications and infrastructure, including email, Microsoft Office Suite, and associated desktop applications, as well as computer and network configuration issues.
  • A demonstrated commitment to delivering quality client support and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a desire for continuous learning and professional development.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to collaborate with a team of IT professionals to support a large client base and resolve daily operational challenges.
  • Experience with help desk ticketing systems.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • A willingness to learn and support new applications.
  • A flexible, proactive attitude with a willingness to tackle tasks of all sizes.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong follow-up capabilities.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
