About the Role

The State of Indiana is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Director of Workforce Development for the Division of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA). This role will play a critical part in advancing behavioral health workforce standards and guiding best practices that contribute to the promotion, recruitment, and retention of behavioral health professionals and organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to identify and address gaps and challenges in the behavioral health workforce.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to increase capacity in programming for equitable behavior and workforce cross-systems collaboration and resource deployment.
  • Provide education and support to staff and stakeholders on reflective workforce development initiatives.
  • Manage contracts that contribute to systems-level workforce development and retention efforts.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree with 1+ years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of experience, or Associate's Degree with 5+ years of experience, or at least 7+ years of experience applying the below, outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role.
  • Specialized knowledge in program subject matter obtained through experience and/or education.
  • Ability to develop and implement new principles and policies and discern any far-reaching implications.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.
