Are you prepared to leverage your expertise in risk management and compliance within Amazon's distinctive landscape? We are in search of a seasoned Senior Internal Auditor to enhance our Worldwide Amazon Stores Internal Audit team. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of operational dynamics and sound business acumen to conduct operational audits across our varied business sectors and technical frameworks.


This position offers significant visibility, allowing you to gain invaluable insights into numerous facets of our operations while implementing impactful enhancements that contribute to our success.

Our team operates cross-functionally, and you will engage in a diverse array of operational and technical audits. We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience in Operations, Commercial, Compliance, IT, and Financial auditing.

You should be adept at functioning both independently and collaboratively, with opportunities to deepen your understanding of our business, IT landscape, and to connect with a broad spectrum of stakeholders.

In collaboration with an Audit Manager, you will oversee comprehensive financial, operational, IT, and compliance audits across all Amazon sectors.

Audit subjects may encompass distribution center operations, customer service processes, vendor agreements, logistics, commercial dealings, adherence to various regulations and corporate policies, privacy, information security, business continuity, asset management, and platform security, among others.

You must possess the ability to comprehend intricate business processes and identify a wide range of risks. Comfort in engaging with diverse roles, from technical software engineers to business executives, is essential.

Your capacity to translate risks into business challenges will be critical. You will utilize your writing proficiency to clearly communicate identified issues in business terminology. Assisting in prioritizing findings and recommendations in alignment with our corporate strategy is a key responsibility.

Facilitating consensus among multiple stakeholders on suitable solutions and ensuring that risks are effectively mitigated is crucial.

Strong project management skills are necessary, as you will manage varying resources and conduct audits from inception to completion, often overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the Internal Audit risk assessment and audit planning process.
  • Plan and define audit/advisory projects, execute project plans, document findings, and facilitate business responses and action items.
  • Conduct thorough analyses to develop significant findings and recommend root cause remediation.
  • Facilitate consensus among multiple stakeholders on appropriate solutions and verify that risks are effectively mitigated.
  • Prepare reports for presentation to senior management and for reporting to the Audit Committee.
  • Represent Internal Audit in various settings (e.g., stakeholder meetings, management and board meetings, compliance committees).
  • Produce documentation to address internal/external requests for Internal Audit.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS degree in accounting, finance, business, engineering, information systems, computer science, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in Finance, Audit, Operations, Risk Management, Compliance, Technology, or a related function.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in risk management (conducting assessments, evaluating controls, managing enterprise control frameworks).
  • Experience with a Big 4 accounting or consulting firm OR Internal Audit experience.
  • Relevant certifications (CPA, CIA, CISA) are preferred.
  • Experience collaborating within a team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience writing data queries.
