Key Position Details:

  • 0.6 FTE (48 hours per two-week schedule)
  • 8-hour day and evening shifts
  • Every third weekend rotation (weekend shifts are evening shifts)
  • Union-represented, benefit-eligible position

Job Responsibilities:

As a Patient Access Representative Associate, you will be responsible for:

  • Welcoming Patients:
    • Greet and welcome patients in person
    • Collect demographic and insurance information
    • Check in or interview patients to complete necessary paperwork
    • Direct patients to their appointments or procedures
  • Verifying Eligibility and Benefits:
    • Verify eligibility and benefits information for payers
    • Interpret results and obtain signatures from patients as needed
    • Collect co-pays or deductibles and respond to questions regarding financial assistance programs
  • Using Resources and Tools:
    • Utilize resources, tools, and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues
  • Assisting Patients:
    • Assist patients in completing request for information forms and submit to the appropriate department
    • Gather medical record information from all departments for collection
    • Mentor new staff as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be 16 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies
  • 0-2 years of customer service experience
  • 0-2 years of general office experience
  • 0-2 years of experience using computer, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 0-2 years of knowledge of the components of revenue cycle and healthcare insurance

Physical Demands:
