IT Helpdesk Technician (Tier 1)

Arzeda is a cutting-edge company that's revolutionizing the way we approach protein design and development. We're seeking an IT Helpdesk Technician (Tier 1) to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in ensuring seamless IT operations across our office and lab environments.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about IT and science, and is eager to learn and grow with our company. As the first point of contact for technical support, you'll be responsible for providing quick and effective responses to daily incidents, troubleshooting and resolving Tier 1 hardware and software issues, and collaborating with internal stakeholders and vendors to solve technical problems.

Responsibilities:
  • Respond to emerging incidents and provide onsite support for computers, robots, scientific instruments, network and IoT devices.
  • Manage ticketing system using Jira, logging, documenting, and escalating issues while maintaining structured communication around tickets.
  • Troubleshoot and triage complex IT issues, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems, and escalating complex cases to higher-tier support.
  • Assist in ongoing IT projects, including installations, maintenance, and improving the IT user experience.
  • Collaborate with vendors to configure lab instruments and install lab computers.
  • Manage PC and laptop setup, maintenance, and refresh for new hires, spares, and general use.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and MSPs to solve technical problems and ensure seamless IT operations.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or relevant certification in Information Technology, or HS diploma and 1 year of relevant IT helpdesk experience.
  • Technical proficiency in Windows 10/11, MS Office, and email support, as well as experience with computer systems, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Customer service experience, demonstrating excellent people skills, and a strong ability to communicate effectively with employees and contractors.
  • Problem-solving ability, with experience diagnosing basic technical issues and recognizing when to escalate.
