Member Services Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled Member Services Teller to join our team at Alta Vista Credit Union. As a Member Services Teller, you will be responsible for providing exceptional member service and support to our members.
Key Responsibilities- Provide competent, courteous, and concerned service to all external and internal members.
- Monitor the operations of the Teller Department and ensure member service standards are met in each and every interaction.
- Receives checks, cash, and other negotiable instruments for deposit, verifies amount, and examines checks for complete and proper endorsements.
- Cashes checks and pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances have been scrutinized.
- Enters members' transactions accurately into computer to record transactions and issues computer-generated receipts.
- Places appropriate check holds in compliance with CU check hold guidelines and Regulation CC rules.
- Provides general information, cross-sells products and services, and routes members to appropriate departments.
- Daily balances cash and transactions accurately.
- Explains and promotes other credit union products that fit individual members' needs.
- Keeps abreast of current marketing promotions and actively participates in meeting personal and department goals associated with each promotion.
- Completes yearly required regulatory training and notifies Branch Manager of classes completed.
- Ensures completion of monthly audits of ATMs, CDMs, TCRs, and all negotiable items. Reports any discrepancies to the appropriate credit union personnel.
- Analyzes the cash flow and makes recommendations to the Branch Manager of the amount required to operate the branch.
- Assists the Branch Manager in training new employees.
- Displays a superior knowledge of all credit union products and services and identifies appropriate cross-sell situations in which to offer those products and services.
- Consistently meets or exceeds sales goals set forth by the Branch Manager.
- Learns and maintains basic knowledge to troubleshoot problems.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and at least two years related experience in a financial institution, within the function or department being hired.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with members and co-workers, focusing on positivity and enthusiasm.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before members or employees.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
