Objective:

The primary goal of the Off-Figure Photo Stylist is to elevate the visual representation of Wantable's merchandise through proficient styling techniques for off-figure photography. This role encompasses both the technical and artistic aspects of styling, ensuring that all product images resonate with the brand's aesthetic and captivate our target audience, ultimately enhancing engagement and driving sales.

Key Responsibilities:

Styling Duties:

  • Tasked with the styling of apparel, accessories, and other products for flat lay photo and video sessions to achieve the desired creative outcomes.
  • Design visually striking flat lays, ghost mannequin displays, and other product configurations.
  • Ensure that all styled products effectively showcase key features while adhering to brand guidelines.

Preparation for Shoots:

  • Organize merchandise in collaboration with Producers and Photographers, working alongside various merchandisers to create sharp, brand-focused imagery.
  • Select and arrange products, props, and backgrounds essential for each shoot.
  • Maintain an orderly and efficient styling area.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage a high volume of tasks, including prioritization and planning under tight deadlines.
  • Ensure effective organization of styling and merchandise for both in-studio and on-location setups.
  • Communicate any new or updated prop requirements to the Production team.

Creative Contributions:

  • Provide innovative ideas and insights to enhance the visual appeal of product imagery.
  • Stay informed about current styling trends and techniques.
  • Experiment with fresh styling concepts to keep the brand's imagery engaging and contemporary.
  • Remain updated on trends within the fashion and retail sectors.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all styled images adhere to the highest quality standards.
  • Prioritize key brand initiatives and highlight products, balancing eye-catching aesthetics with merchandise strategies.
  • Coordinate the timing of samples/products with marketing schedules to guarantee product availability during image deployment.
  • Review and adjust styling during shoots to achieve optimal results.
  • Collaborate with retouchers to ensure final images are polished and professional.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with photographers, art directors, and other creative team members to ensure product images reflect the brand's aesthetic and appeal to our target market.
  • Facilitate seamless coordination between styling and photography to meet production timelines.
  • Collaborate with production and sample teams to optimize shot cadence for daily efficiencies.
  • Communicate effectively to align styling with overarching brand strategies.
  • Maintain close communication with studio partners and merchants to anticipate and resolve sample-related issues.

Expected Outcomes:

Brand Consistency: Achieve a cohesive and visually appealing representation of Wantable's products across all off-figure photography.

Engagement Metrics: Contribute to heightened customer engagement and sales through high-quality product styling.

Process Efficiency: Streamline the styling process to maximize productivity and creativity while maintaining quality.

Qualifications:

Location: Must be able to work at the Wantable photo studio and various shoot locations as required.

Experience: Proven experience in styling within the fashion or retail industry, particularly in off-figure photography.

Technical Skills: Proficient in styling techniques for flat lays, ghost mannequins, and creative product arrangements. Familiarity with Google business tools and basic digital marketing is essential.

Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational, communication, and collaboration abilities.

  • Styling Expertise: Ability to style products effectively while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Creative Vision: Strong creative insight to develop and implement innovative styling concepts.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comprehensive understanding of off-figure styling techniques and photography requirements.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work efficiently with various stakeholders.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar role, preferably within the fashion retail sector.

Portfolio: Demonstrable experience in producing high-quality visual content.

Availability: Must be available for work with flexibility for occasional travel.

This position reports to the Photo Art Director.
