Mission:
The primary goal is to elevate the visual representation of Wantable's offerings through skilled styling and prop arrangement for off-figure photography. This role encompasses both the technical and artistic aspects of styling during photo sessions, overseeing the complete styling process. The objective is to ensure that all product visuals resonate with the brand's identity and captivate our target audience, ultimately enhancing engagement and driving sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Styling Duties:
- Tasked with styling apparel, accessories, and other items for flat lay photography and video sessions to achieve the desired creative output.
- Develop visually striking flat lays, ghost mannequin images, and other product displays.
- Ensure products are styled to accentuate key features while maintaining brand consistency.
Shooting Preparation:
- Prepare merchandise in collaboration with Producers and Photographers, working closely with various merchandisers to create sharp, brand-focused imagery.
- Select and organize necessary products, props, and backgrounds for each shoot.
- Maintain an orderly and efficient styling and prop area.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage high workflow volumes, including prioritization, planning, and task delegation under tight deadlines.
- Ensure styling and merchandise organization for effective studio and/or on-location setups.
- Communicate any new or updated prop requirements to the Production team.
Creative Contributions:
- Provide innovative ideas and creative input to enhance the visual appeal of product imagery.
- Stay informed about current styling trends and techniques.
- Experiment with new styling concepts to keep the brand's imagery engaging and fresh.
- Keep abreast of trends in fashion and retail.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all styled images meet the highest quality standards.
- Prioritize key brand initiatives and highlight products, balancing aesthetic appeal with merchandise strategies.
- Coordinate the timing of samples/products to align with marketing launch dates, ensuring product availability when images are presented to customers.
- Review and adjust styling during shoots to achieve optimal results.
- Collaborate with retouchers to ensure final images are polished and professional.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with photographers, art directors, and other creative team members to ensure product images reflect the brand's aesthetic and appeal to our target audience.
- Facilitate seamless coordination between styling and photography to meet production timelines.
- Collaborate with production and sample teams to provide guidance on shot cadence for daily efficiencies on set.
- Communicate effectively to align styling with the overall brand strategy.
- Maintain close communication with Studio Partners and/or merchants to anticipate and resolve sample issues.
Expected Outcomes:
- Brand Consistency: Achieve a cohesive and visually appealing representation of Wantable's products across all off-figure photography.
- Engagement Metrics: Contribute to increased customer engagement and sales through high-quality product styling.
- Process Efficiency: Streamline the styling process to maximize productivity and creativity while maintaining quality.
Qualifications:
Location: Based in Milwaukee with the ability to work at the Wantable photo studio and various shoot locations as needed.
Experience: Proven experience in styling within the fashion or retail industry, particularly in off-figure photography.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in styling techniques for flat lays, ghost mannequins, and creative product arrangements. Familiarity with Google business tools and basic digital marketing is required.
Soft Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration abilities.
Skills:
- Styling Expertise: Ability to style products to highlight key features and maintain brand consistency.
- Creative Vision: Strong creative vision to develop and implement innovative styling concepts.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of off-figure styling techniques and photography requirements.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with other stakeholders.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar role, preferably within the fashion retail sector.
Portfolio: Demonstrable experience in producing high-quality visual content.
Availability: Must be available to work in Milwaukee with flexibility for occasional travel.
This position reports to the Photo Art Director.
