Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our team as a Billing Disputes Agent. This role will be responsible for resolving patient billing disputes, investigating services performed, and collecting self-pay accounts receivable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resolve patient billing disputes in a professional and courteous manner
  • Investigate services performed and ensure accurate billing
  • Collect self-pay accounts receivable in a timely and efficient manner
  • Utilize Central Billing Office (CBO) resources to resolve account questions
  • Work as a team player to support vendors and UnityPoint Health staff
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a customer service call center environment
  • Minimum of 2 years' medical billing experience
  • Data entry skill level of 40-50 words per minute
  • Bi-lingual
  • Prior experience in a third-party collection or medical collections and knowledge of industry terminology, principles, and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to learn and master multiple computer and phone systems quickly
  • Highly developed communication skills to effectively work with all levels of management
