Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain the operating room and equipment for surgical procedures
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during procedures
  • Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to aseptic technique
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and effective procedures
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled or graduated from a surgical technologist training program accredited by CAHEEP/AHEBS or NCCT Approved program
  • No experience required
  • BLS required
  • Certified to practice as a Surgical Technologist by NBSTSA (The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) or NCCT (The National Center for Competency Testing) required at time of start date
  • Current Registration with Virginia Board of Medicine required at the time of hire
Working Conditions

The job requires standing for prolonged periods, repetitive motion, and lifting heavy instrument sets. The individual may be exposed to cold, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
