We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Traveling Heavy Civil Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the completion of high-profile projects throughout the country.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day operations on construction sites
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with company safety protocols
- Lead the overall construction effort, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Direct and lead onsite foremen and make informed decisions to drive project success
- Communicate effectively with foremen, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
- Work closely with the General Superintendent to coordinate resources, project strategy, and ensure project success
- Develop and maintain a two-week look-ahead schedule with the project manager
- Communicate daily with the Construction Operations Manager to discuss schedules and resource needs
- Review equipment and personnel with foremen to ensure optimal resource allocation
- Willingness to travel 100%
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering preferred
- 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a proven track record of success
- Previous experience with construction management software and MS Office
- Working knowledge of FAA, USACE, NAVFAC, and state DOT specifications
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage union workforces
- Willingness to attain necessary certifications for project-specific requirements
