Job Title: Heavy Civil Superintendent

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the completion of high-profile projects throughout the country.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations on the construction site
  • Maintain a safe work site and ensure all company safety protocols are followed
  • Direct and lead the onsite foreman and make onsite decisions
  • Clearly communicate the plan and directive with the foreman and subcontractors
  • Work under a General Superintendent to coordinate resources, project strategy, and a pathway for project success
  • Develop the work schedule with the project manager and maintain and lead discussion of a two-week look ahead
  • Communicate daily with the Construction Operations Manager about schedules and resources needed
  • Review equipment and personnel with foreman for resources needed

Requirements:

  • Willing to travel 100%
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering preferred
  • 5+ years previous related experience, and/or an equivalent combination of technical training and related experience
  • Previous construction management software knowledge and experience along with MS Office
  • Have working knowledge of FAA, USACE, NAVFAC, and various state DOT specifications
  • Strong organizational skills in order to handle the variety of tasks assigned
  • Develop positive working relationships with owners and project engineers as well as local government offices
  • Must effectively manage union workforces
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally with employees, external vendors, owners, and general contractors
  • Possess a forward-thinking drive to continually improve and have the willingness to learn
  • Willing to attain certain certifications that may be needed on an as needed project basis
