Job Summary

As a key member of the Mahle team, the Warehouse Supervisor will oversee the daily activities of personnel to enhance overall efficiencies and accuracies of receiving, breaking down, and staging components and finished goods. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to prioritize and schedule workflow, ensure quality standards, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign work and maintain workflow at optimum levels, monitoring reports for old receipts and warehouse tasks, and prioritizing and coordinating with group leaders, SAP Coordinators, and Production Control to schedule expedited receipts.
  • Ensure work meets or exceeds quality standards, timely completion of assigned Corrective Action Requests, daily assignment and verification of aisles/areas for cleanup and 5S, and daily rack attack crews to engage employees and ensure the right part is in the location.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, monitor and disposition all pallets/bin boxes/products in area of responsibility, address problems as they arise, perform Safety Observation Tour monthly, and conduct rack inspections weekly.
  • Communicate and maintain company policies and disciplines, daily policing of the floor for enforcement of safety and productivity practices, perform disciplinary action as necessary, and maintain timely employee records concerning attendance and production performance.
  • Maintain communication of pertinent details between departments, read and respond to emails as necessary, and perform effective shift handoff to include status of radios, harnesses, forklifts, scanners, overtime plans, and report times that impact the next shift.
  • Daily reporting of metrics on local SFM boards and daily operations meeting board, implement actions to achieve department KPI's, and implement new ideas and processes to improve efficiencies and reduce wastes.
  • Promote company loyalty and good employee morale, monthly group recognition of Top Performers, ensure proper staffing levels to fill vacancies, and coordinate and clarify needs with HR.
  • Perform all tasks as required by the applicable work instructions, write or revise established work instructions as processes are introduced or change, support proper on-the-job training with Group Leaders for new employees and new or changed processes, and develop, submit, and test systemic changes and improvements.
  • Give timely employee reviews fairly critiqued for employee development.
Supervisory Responsibilities

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for leading the department to achieve company goals, possessing strong proven leadership and people skills, prioritizing and scheduling work flow within the department, and possessing basic knowledge of Human Resource skills and Labor practices.

Education and/or Experience
  • Must have high school diploma, some college classes in business or manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems, make decisions, and work within assigned deadlines with a high attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent attendance/safety record.
  • Intermediate computer skills, especially in MS Office.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment required in department is preferred.
