Job Title: Swim Instructor

Job Summary:

The Department of Campus Recreation at Penn State University is seeking highly motivated and experienced swim instructors to teach group and private swim lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. As a swim instructor, you will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging learning environment, teaching swimming techniques, and providing feedback to students. Responsibilities:
  • Teach group and private swim lessons to students of all ages and skill levels
  • Create a safe and engaging learning environment
  • Teach swimming techniques and provide feedback to students
  • Develop and implement lesson plans to meet the needs of students
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Requirements:
  • Current certification in American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor or Basic Water Safety Instructor
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification
  • Ability to work a variable schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Working Conditions:

Work will take place on the University Park campus, primarily in the McCoy Natatorium. The successful candidate will be required to work a variable schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends. The position is subject to the availability of funding and the needs of the department.
