We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Department Manager to join our team at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our nursing department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and leading a team of dedicated healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff in one or more specialty areas, including cardiovascular, surgical services, emergency, endoscopy, and critical care.
- Assess patient care needs and ensure that appropriate care is provided.
- Provide oversight of all aspects of nursing department operations, including staffing, budgeting, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Deliver quality patient care and ensure the implementation of clinical objectives.
- Delegate duties to clinical staff based on their assessed skills and abilities.
- Collaborate with department leadership to ensure processes are up to date and followed.
- Participate in ongoing quality initiatives, auditing projects, and development of plans for improvement.
- Conduct hiring, training, directing, development, and evaluation of staff.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Education: Required professional licensure/certification and 1 year of cumulative job-specific experience required.
