Job Summary

As a Trauma PI Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of trauma patient care at CHRISTUS Health. You will work collaboratively with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Manager to coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the clinical aspects of the Trauma program. Your responsibilities will include coordinating Performance Improvement (PI) activities, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and championing a service of excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the Trauma Program Performance Improvement (PI) activities
  • Monitor and evaluate the clinical aspects of the Trauma program
  • Collaborate with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Manager to ensure quality trauma patient care
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve trauma patient outcomes
  • Collect, input, and review data into the State trauma registry
  • Identify and investigate variances in patient clinical care and system issues
Requirements
  • Graduate of a professional nursing school
  • Current New Mexico RN license or current compact state license
  • BLS and TNCC are required
  • TNCC instructor status preferred
  • TOPIC required in the first six months and AAAM AIS coding course within 12 months of start date
  • ICD-10 coding for trauma required within 2 years
Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of three years working in an Emergency Department setting caring directly for trauma patients
