Position Overview

The Facilities Operations Supervisor at our Offsite Reprocessing Center (ORC) is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing our Facilities team, ensuring that all assets and daily operations comply with OSHA standards, are properly maintained, and operate efficiently at their intended capacity. The ideal candidate must be flexible to work across various shifts and perform necessary repairs to support the Facilities team. This position directs daily maintenance activities in a 24-hour, 5.5-day healthcare environment, ensuring optimal performance of the facility. The Facilities Supervisor will lead local maintenance technicians, coordinate projects with Facilities and Operations teams, and manage all maintenance personnel activities across shifts. This role is crucial in ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed, maximizing operational efficiency across the entire facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to OSHA General Industrial Safety Standards and Construction Safety Standards for facility services staff and contracted personnel.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate maintenance team members across all technical disciplines necessary for success at the ORC.
  • Oversee the preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for the Offsite Reprocessing Center, including necessary administrative tasks to meet quality and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct daily inspections of all facility areas and equipment to guarantee the safety of personnel and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze equipment failures, coordinating repairs with qualified contractors as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in compliance with STERIS guidelines, contributing to the creation of Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives utilizing lean methodologies.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance schedules for team members and service contractors.
  • Manage communication with external agencies, including contractors and equipment suppliers.
  • Be available during production hours to perform necessary repairs and maintenance during downtime.
  • Requisition parts and supplies required for facility operations and report on monthly expenditures.
  • Implement 5S methodologies to maintain cleanliness within the Facilities department.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Assist in planning and executing facility improvement projects.
  • Travel as required to support operations or attend training sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED with 13 years of facilities maintenance experience or equivalent in MEP trades (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with at least 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or MEP trades.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with external agencies.
  • Availability to perform maintenance during production downtime, often on weekends.
  • Experience with 5S programs to ensure plant cleanliness.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to assist in facility improvement project planning and execution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% for operational support or training.
