As a Houseman, your primary duties will involve cleaning and upkeeping corridors and communal spaces in accordance with all housekeeping protocols, standards, safety, and security regulations. You will provide assistance to Room Attendants on assigned floors to ensure the hotel consistently meets and surpasses cleanliness benchmarks. The responsibilities you will carry out at the highest standards include:

  • Supporting room attendants with heavy items such as mattresses, soiled linens, and waste.
  • Delivering linens and essential items to room attendants.
  • Shampooing carpets and maintaining floors throughout the establishment.
  • Ensuring cleanliness in designated areas like the lobby, public restrooms, and service areas.
  • Collecting waste from various locations within the hotel.
  • Responding promptly to guest requests for housekeeping supplies.
  • Inspecting public areas to confirm they meet cleanliness criteria and reporting any concerns to the supervisor.
  • Completing all assigned tasks, projects, and responsibilities as directed by management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledgeable in emergency protocols.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to walk, bend, kneel, and stand for extended durations.
  • Capable of lifting and pushing/pulling approximately 50lbs.
  • Continuous standing throughout the work shift.
  • Willingness to work on weekends and holidays.
