About the Position:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Baseball Pitching Coach to join our team. As a key member of our Intercollegiate Athletics department, you will be responsible for providing teaching, coaching, and technical expertise to our student-athletes, allowing them to compete at their highest competitive potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective pitching strategies and techniques;
  • Assist in making strategic decisions in contest situations;
  • Oversee the development and execution of recruitment plans;
  • Collaborate with the Head Coach to evaluate and improve the performance of our student-athletes;
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations;
  • Act as a liaison between the coaching staff, academic services, and other departments as needed;
  • Participate in fundraising efforts and support the development of our baseball program.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Collegiate baseball coaching experience or equivalent playing and skills instruction experience;
  • Working knowledge of NCAA and Conference rules and regulations;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students;
  • Ability to travel and work weekends and holidays;
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain;
  • Valid Driver's License or ability to obtain one prior to the start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pitching coaching experience specifically at the Division 1 level;
  • Knowledge of recruitment techniques and proven ability to bring in high-level prospects.
