Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Housekeeping Specialist to join our team at Sopris Lodge at Carbondale. As a key member of our housekeeping department, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facility, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Housekeeping Operations: Ensure that work and cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical, and coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing: Sweep, buff, and mop all area floors, dust and polish furniture or equipment, vacuum carpets and drapery, sanitize sinks, toilets, tubs, and shower areas, and clean mirrors, lighting fixtures, doors, and walls.
  • Supply Management: Replenish paper products, hand soap products, and wastebasket liners, and maintain housekeeping cart and utility closets in sanitary and orderly condition.
  • Reporting and Communication: Inform supervisor of supply or equipment needs, report any damaged or loose fixtures, flooring, or tiling requiring replacement or repair, any unsafe or malfunctioning equipment, any conditions conducive to breeding insects, rodents, or other vermin, and maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: On-the-job training provided, bilingual with the ability to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Physical and Sensory Requirements: Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility, must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, and must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately.
Working Environment
  • Work Environment: Works in all areas of the facility, moves intermittently during working hours, is subject to frequent interruptions, and is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
