PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
PACIFIC ASIAN CONSORTIUM IN EMPLOYMENT (PACE) is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Full-time Crew Supervisor to join the Energy Environmental Services Department. This position offers a remarkable opportunity for individuals aiming to advance their careers within a well-established organization while making a meaningful impact in the community. The Energy and Environmental Services Department provides essential services such as Energy Assistance and Weatherization to low-income residents in the greater Los Angeles area. These programs offer utility bill support and implement measures to enhance the energy efficiency, safety, and comfort of eligible homes or apartments. The selected candidate will be employed under a contract with the State of California Department of Community Services and Development (CSD) to execute programs including the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Department of Energy (DOE) Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), and other CSD/State/Federal initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Field Supervisor, the Crew Supervisor will:
- Adhere to and implement safety protocols in line with PACE and Cal OSHA standards;
- Supervise and assign tasks to crew members;
- Conduct pre-and post-Combustion Appliance Safety (CAS) Tests on gas appliances as per the Technical Reference Manual from the State of California, CSD;
- Document actions taken after each CAS test and submit reports to the Field Operations Supervisor promptly;
- Perform blower door and duct blaster tests, preparing and submitting reports in a timely manner;
- Understand and complete all required CSD forms in both electronic and paper formats;
- Ensure compliance of HVAC/Electrical contractors' work with CSD standards and local building codes;
- Install necessary weatherization measures, including weatherstripping, minor repairs, insulation, and solar systems;
- Address daily crew issues and provide necessary guidance;
- Respond to client and property manager concerns at job sites;
- Review and approve daily work activity reports for crew members;
- Track pending installations to ensure timely completion;
- Effectively manage and supervise assigned installers;
- Enforce program guidelines among crew members;
- Manage field materials and ensure accurate reporting of usage;
- Conduct quality inspections of work performed by crew members;
- Ensure all work is conducted safely and in compliance with guidelines;
- Educate clients on the benefits of weatherization services;
- Document budget counseling and lead-safe information for clients;
- Maintain an efficient work schedule to minimize downtime;
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding operations;
- Perform HVAC installations as needed;
- Assume installer duties when required;
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.
- Carry out additional related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required; AA degree preferred;
- Proficient in computer skills for energy audit programs;
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in construction/weatherization and supervisory roles;
- Ability to perform Basic Weatherization, CAS, Blower Door, and Duct Blaster Testing;
- Possession of relevant California training certificates is advantageous;
- Completion of required online and in-house training within specified timeframes;
- Ability to analyze data and perform mathematical calculations;
- Understanding of policies and standards set by funding sources;
- Physical fitness to use safety gear and work in various environments;
- Experience with solar installations is a plus;
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively;
- Bilingual abilities in Spanish or Asian languages are a plus.

Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Successful completion of background verification and pre-employment physical examination, including drug testing;
- Annual respiratory screening exam required;
- Valid California Driver's License or reliable transportation with adequate insurance is necessary;
- Must pass State of CA DMV's Motor Vehicle Report for authorized driving of PACE vehicles;
- COVID vaccination is required, with options for medical or religious exemptions.
